Perhaps it's the color of the sun cut flat An' cov'rin' the crossroads I'm standing at, Or maybe it's the weather or something like that, But mama, you been on my mind. I don't mean trouble, please don't put me down, don't get upset, I am not pleading or saying that "I can't forget you." I do not walk the floor bowed down and bent, but yet, Mama, you been on my mind. Even though my mind is hazy and my thoughts they might be narrow, Where you been don't bother me nor bring me down in sorrow. I don't even mind who you'll be waking with tomorrow, But mama, you're just on my mind. I am not askin' you to say words like "yes" or "no," Please understand me, I have no place I'm callin' you to go. I'm just whispering to myself so I can pretend that I don't know, Mama, you been on my mind. When you wake up in the mornin' and look inside your mirror, You know I won't be next to you, no, I won't be near. I'd just be curious to know if you can see yourself as clear As someone who has had you on his mind. |

I passed the Middle English exam! O.o
With a 5.5 that is, but I can't tell you how relieved I am :D
This afternoon I did R/R Lit, and was surprised to see how much I remembered from the mess I tried to imprint on my brain in the past three days.
Now it's on to the next one on Friday, but not before this:
I've put my name down for a new provincial theatre project to be performed on a beach in 'De Blauwe Stad', and to be directed by my former youth theatre director; YAY! Worked my ass off on Saturday, but was rewarded by an awesome football-afterparty and little sleep. And a bit of wicked streetdance on Sunday. And in a while I'm finally off to my parents again, to rest for a bit and tomorrow have coffee and pie on my birthday.
Maybe they'll get up at 5 o'clock to put up decorations and sing me a song as soon as I've woke up. Which won't be till noon, at least :) |

I thought: Job -> hard work -> regularity -> healthier lifestyle.
It turns out: Job -> nice co-workers -> late nights -> drinks -> no studying.
I'm not complaining; I'm having a great time. But I'll regret it as soon as I find out the exams aren't exactly going as planned.
Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to get up in time and study some poems and plays before I go to Winschoten for the information meeting about a new theatre project called 'OCCIS', and afterward go to back to the city for a smashing dance battle in The Palace, between several crews of the (my now very own) Underground Danceclass Company. And Saturday means means work - means late night - means sleeping in - means little spirit for reading. Again. Hm. We'll see. |

| | Pharaohe Monch | ] | Please, let me pass ME Literature in one try, I don't want to read no old and middle English texts no more, no sir.
In other news: streetdance is going really well, and my new job comes with very nice co-workers. |

| | Duvel Duvel | ] | Just got a call from Jantje Zag Eens Pruimen Hangen: looks like I'll be doing the dishes after all. Tomorrow I'll have to show them what I've got. Too bad it's not waitressing after all, but who knows what prospects dishwashers have these days..?
I've got a tan! |

[Jun. 7th, 2007|02:39 pm] |
1. I'm moving to the Vinkenstraat in about two weeks - a house to be shared with one other girl. I'll get a nice bedroom (with windows that can actually be opened), a shared living room, a kitchen (with an actual gas stove and without a bathroom and toilet attached to it) and a balcony facing South, plus access to a nice, sunny sort of grass patio/playground for the neighborhood (barbecues!!).
2. Yesterday was GET's first rehearsal in preparation for NUTS camp and other stuff, which was nice, and I'm looking forward to attending my first improv night at Sally's this evening. Theatre is nice.
3. Next week I'm starting streetdance classes at the UDC, 2 times a week, with a friend of mine. Their crews are really very good, and I have every intention of becoming as streetwise as they are ;)
4. Yesterday I received a letter from CWI with a vacancy for dish washer in Jantje Zag Eens Pruimen Hangen (in the Plantsoen). So just now I gave them a call, but unfortunately no dish washers were needed anymore. However, the guy immediately wrote down my phone number and asked whether or not I would be interested in working as a waitress, and that I'll most likely get a call soon. Unexpected, and very nice!!
5. Hopefully, when (if.....) I get my propedeuse and manage to get a fixed job (or two), I'll be spending next year making money and living with my brother in a brand new house, and successfully audition at several acting schools... I am finally planning ahead. Somewhat :)
Now back to reading that cursed 'Pamela'. |
